Intention. This website is intended solely for business purposes. It is neither directed at nor intended for use by children. This Privacy Policy is limited to the TradeLock Division of PolyGroup, Ltd.


The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the TradeLock website. TradeLock is the sole owner of the information collected on tradelock.com.

TradeLock ID Application. On some pages, you can request to receive a TradeLock ID. In order to apply, a user must first submit the following information:

Mailing Address
City
State/Province
Zip/Postal Code
Phone Number
Type of Business
Magazines and Association Relations

Optional Information. It is optional for the user to provide other information, such as JBT ID, other sites often used, or suggestions for sites the user would like to see use TradeLock Password Protection. The user may also request to receive more information about other companies in the jewelry industry (see Choice/Opt-Out).

Supplementation of Information. In order to properly fulfill our obligation to protect TradeLock Password Protected websites from visitors outside of the jewelry industry, TradeLock receives information from third parties, including the Jewelers Board of Trade, and various jewelry associations around the world.


How We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself and your business to verify your position in the jewelry industry. We store collected information to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual businesses that details their position in the industry and interactions between our two companies. We do not share this information with third parties except as described below.

Required Information. In order to receive a TradeLock ID, you must fill out an application or provide otherwise requested information in order to verify your status within the jewelry industry.

Third Parties. Certain TradeLock Password Protection clients provide TradeLock with lists of their members or clients for the purpose of restricting access to their websites. In these situations we do provide our clients a list of their members'/clients' TradeLock IDs and corresponding business name.

Communication. We send all new TradeLock ID holders a welcoming email or letter to verify username and password. On rare occasions, it is necessary to send out a strictly service-related announcement. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.

Customer Service. When requested by users regarding issues relating to their service, we reply via email, phone, fax, or mail, in accordance with the users' wishes. We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Log Files. Like most standard website servers we use log files. This means that we either currently or will in the future record such information as: Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. This information is not linked to personally identifiable information.

Sharing. Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process.

Business Transitions. In the event TradeLock goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, users' personal and/or business information may be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified via email, letter, or a notice on our website prior to a change of ownership or control of their information. If as a result of the business transition, the users' personal or business information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection they will be given choice consistent with our Notification of Changes section.

Choice/Opt-Out. On the TradeLock ID application, our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information shared with identified third parties. Users who no longer wish to receive promotional communications from these third parties may opt-out of receiving these communications by contacting the parties directly.

Links. This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, TradeLock, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by tradelock.com.


How We Protect Your Information

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put into place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Security. Your information is stored within a copyrighted database that requires a username and password for access. Only employees of PolyGroup, Ltd. are given access. Policies of the company further restrict the use of that access. The servers used to store the database are housed in a locked facility.


How to Access or Change Your Information

You can access and maintain all your personally identifiable information that we collect by calling, emailing, faxing, or writing. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before making corrections.


Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, and to other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

Exceptions. If, however, we are going to use users' information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email, post, phone, or fax. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have deleted or deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner.
